Without the constitution, CT Ravi, Eshwarappa, I would have to be herding sheep somewhere!
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that if there was no constitution, CT Ravi, Eshwarappa and I would have been tending sheep and cows somewhere.
Speaking at the training camp organized for new MLAs, CM Siddaramaiah said that everyone should read the rules without fail while holding the House. An assembly is called a temple. It is good with the people and their problem should be discussed in the House.
While inaugurating the training camp for newly elected MLAs for the 16th Legislative Assembly, he said that those who do not read and understand the Constitution cannot become good MLAs and MPs. So first read the constitution and understand its basic principles and objectives, he said.
I am not the Congress Chief Minister, I am the Chief Minister of the state. Chief Minister for those who don't vote. We should have this feeling. He said that everyone should know the constitution, otherwise one cannot become a good parliamentarian.
We made the rules of the House ourselves. If you read and understand it properly, people's problems can be presented before the House in accordance with the rules. Cannot make laws contrary to the Constitution. Therefore, reading the constitution is essential, he said.
Politics is there to serve the people, not to show off. A politician is a public servant. It can remain in the public domain only if it is not in mind. Those who want to climb the steps of the Vidhana Soudha at least once, do not enter after climbing. This attitude should be left. MLAs should be present in the assembly during the session.
During the session, meeting people, meeting ministers and officials should be avoided. Some leave halfway to see the people of the constituency and the officials. Some ministers do not come to the House. If you come there, you will understand the speech of the elders and the parliamentary language. Siddaramaiah said that we are not experts, not experts.
It is because of the Constitution given by Dr. Ambedkar that people like me can become MLAs and Chief Ministers. CT Ravi, KS Eshwarappa said, "If there was no constitution, I would have been tending sheep and cows somewhere." Elections are becoming expensive now. Eligible and honest MLAs are rare. Sometimes people who don't care about people win. It will be difficult for him to win a second time. Siddaramaiah said that those who work for the people will stay in politics.
